The Master in Architectural Management & Design program, first of its kind to bridge advanced design and business management, run by IE School of Architecture. The master started this 31st of January with a keynote conference on customer relationship by Andrew Phillips Director at David Chipperfield Architects.

A group of architects representing 10 different nationalities embark on an educational journey in the quest to bridge management & design. The countries represented in the class are Germany, Canada, Colombia, Belgium, Spain, Mexico, UK, Russia, Syria, and Uruguay. The 2011 class is getting ready for their onsite period in London this summer. They will embark on the third module of the master that addresses the design implications of business strategies through practical exercises. It also provides advanced design skills and state-of-the-art software knowledge to be applied in a multidisciplinary integrated practice. In London, as part of the Architect’s Backstage series, students will have lectures with architects representing top practices such as Foster and Partners, AEDAS, Broadway Malyan, GENSLER & Zaha Hadid Architects. Each one of these practices excels in coupling their management and design strategies and will share with students their experience in the necessary back office work to achieve outstanding design.
